Niger WASH Endline - WB Niger WASH Cash transfer - Impact Evaluation Endline Survey Integrated WASH/Cash Transfer Program in Niger (Sahel Adaptive Safety Net Program)
Project Abstract
In 2017, SCIH/Swiss TPH was mandated by the World Bank with the implementation of the survey “Baseline Survey for the Impact Evaluation of the Integrated WASH/Cash Transfer program in Niger”, and has now in 2019 been mandated to implent the according endline survey. The national sub-contractor for the implementation of the survey is the Réseau International Schistosomiases Environnement Aménagements et Lutte (RISEAL)-Niger. The objective is to prepare and conduct the endline survey in the period October 2019 – January 2020 to evaluate the impact of a WASH / Cash transfer pilot study and to provide a comprehensive dataset to the World Bank impact evaluation team. Household questionnaire. Key variables of interest: diarrheal incidence among <5 years old children, anthropometric status of <5 years old children

Anthropometric measurement of children (weight, height, mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC))

Water testing: Point of collection and point of use water quality (E. coli, nitrate, free and total chlorine residual)

Qualitative survey (15 villages) with focus group discussions on perception and experiences with water treatment
The total sample of the survey will include approximately 1300 households in 60 villages (10 control group villages, 25 each treatment arm 1 and treatment arm 2) in the departments Dosso, Maradi, Zinder, Tillaberi and Tahoua.
