Profile
With an extensive, multidisciplinary background in host-pathogen genetics, computational biology, mathematical modeling, and epidemiology, Dr. Monica Golumbeanu is passionate about understanding how infectious diseases unfold in host populations and identifying new avenues towards disease control and elimination. At Swiss TPH, her research focuses on developing data-driven computational analyses and mathematical models of malaria infection dynamics to assess the impact of interventions on host and parasite populations. Previously, Monica obtained a PhD in Computational Biology from ETH Zürich, where she studied gene expression dynamics of HIV infection.
