Stephanie Mauti, PhD, med. vet., is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Human and Animal Health Unit of the department of Epidemiology and Public Health at Swiss TPH. She was trained in veterinary medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Vetsuisse Faculty) at the University of Bern and holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Basel. Stephanie Mauti has experience in the field of Neglected Zoonotic Diseases. A broad spectrum of different epidemiological methods were applied during her PhD project, which assessed baseline dog population dynamics and the epidemiology of dog-related zoonotic diseases, namely rabies, echinococcosis and leishmaniasis, in Bamako, Mali. Currently, Stephanie Mauti is involved in a research project with the overall aim to improve rabies surveillance in different African partner countries through improved diagnostics, molecular epidemiology and animal bite case investigations.
