ICRC HIA GAZA - Comprehensive health impact assessment of the Gaza Strip integrated essential services
Project Abstract
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mandated Swiss TPH to carry out a comprehensive HIA of the integrated essential services – water supply, food supply, wastewater management and energy – in the Gaza Strip. The overarching objective of the HIA was to better understand what interventions at the level of essential services are needed to maximize positive public health outcomes. The HIA included extensive data collection on living conditions, health behaviours, biomarkers and environmental exposures, with findings feeding into a multi-stakeholder engagement process, which was an on ongoing activity throughout the HIA process.
