iNTS FVVA - Full Value of Vaccines Assessment for invasive Non-Typhoidal Salmonella Vaccines
Project Abstract
Salmonella infections cause around 350,000 deaths annually, 60% from typhoid. The Full Value of Vaccines project seeks to evaluate the value of investment in a vaccine targeting both typhoid and non-typhoidal salmonella. Our role is to estimate the cost-effectiveness of typhoid vaccination in African countries. We use dynamical modelling to assess the impact of vaccination, and economic modelling to estimate the cost of typhoid treatement and vaccination, and then estimate cost-effectiveness. We identify key influencers of cost-effectiveness, such as vaccine efficacy, coverage, and treatment costs through sensitivity analysis.
