ICS-West Africa - Institutional Capacity Strengthening for Health Research Partnerships between Switzerland and West Africa
Project Abstract
This institutional capacity strengthening approach of the triangular research management consortium aims at developing a cross-institutional framework with standardized procedures and training of trainers, to be consolidated to the three applicant institutions in the first instance. In a second step, the established research capacity will be disseminated beyond the consortium to other interested research management entities of international academic institutions to foster collaborative global health research project applications and grant acquisition competencies. Finally, in a pilot approach, a network of biomedical researchers in ophthalmology will be created and convened from interested institutions to enable an increasing eye-related disease project portfolio between Switzerland and West Africa, and beyond.
