Swiss TPH is committed to excellence in scientific research in diverse fields including parasitology, infection biology, epidemiology, public health, health systems and economics.

We study the biology and transmission of pathogens and use this research to develop new drugs and vaccines for neglected tropical and poverty-related infectious diseases.

We analyse the distribution and causes of infectious and non-communicable diseases in populations around the world and in different cultural and environmental contexts. Our methods range from anthropology and social science to biostatistics and mathematical modelling, and observational cohort studies using biobanks.

We have strong expertise in clinical research for drugs, diagnostics and vaccines - including pharmaceutical, clinical and implementation research - with a focus on poverty-related diseases.
