Prospective Multicentre Clinical Trial for the Evaluation of the Accuracy and Diagnostic Yield of the Fujifilm LAM TB Test for the Diagnosis of Tuberculosis in HIV-positive Patients
Project Abstract
New, rapid, non-sputum-based point-of-care (POC) diagnostic solutions to detect TB are urgently needed. This is a prospective, multicentre cohort study (Sponsor: FIND) in which the accuracy and the diagnostic yield of the FujiLAM test will be assessed using a microbiological reference standard, an extended microbiological reference standard and a composite reference standard among inpatient and outpatient people living with HIV (PLHIV). Swiss TPH participates together with its partner site, the Ifakara Health Institute, in this multi-centre trial.
