Technical Assistance to Country-Led Evaluations Supported by the Global Financing Facility & Metareview of Evidence

Swiss TPH provides technical assistance to country organisations currently engaged in the implementation of Global Financing Facility (GFF) Investment Case (IC) evaluations, with the aim to strengthen their capacities to conduct high quality evaluations. Focusing on reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNACH-N), GFF Investment Cases are processes that drive the identification of priorities, make a case for investing in them, and help attain complementary financing for them from both domestic and external financiers.

Swiss TPH will engage with country partners through evaluation competency assessments, capacity strengthening and support to the implementation of IC evaluations at various stages. This mandate also involves the conduct of a metareview of evaluation evidence at country level and across countries to foster learning and feed into policy cycles. A key outcome of the mandate is eventually the generation of high quality evidence and its use for decision-making by country health systems’ actors. For this mandate, Swiss TPH partners with the Center for Learning on Evaluation and Results (CLEAR) Francophone Africa, based at the Centre Africain d'Etudes Supérieures en Gestion (CESAG) in Dakar, Senegal.
