The Diagnostic Centre is a leading specialist in the diagnosis of parasite infections. We have extensive experience in a wide range of parasitic diseases, some of which are very rare. We provide a comprehensive range of methods for analysing patient samples.

Proper sample collection, adequate transport conditions and complete accompanying information are prerequisites for meaningful microbiological results. Errors made in these areas often cannot be corrected by even the best laboratory methods. Please contact us for more information.

The 10 most important rules

  1. Take samples from which pathogens are to be isolated or directly or indirectly detected, before starting or changing any antimicrobial therapy
  2. Collect the sample preferably at the site of the infection
  3. Avoid sample contamination
  4. Collect sufficient material
  5. Use sterile, lockable containers and, if necessary, special transport methods
  6. Label each sample with the patient's name
  7. Communicate clinical (suspected) diagnosis or questions to the laboratory
  8. Specify the material to be tested and the localisation of the sampling
  9. Specifically request pathogens that are not routinely searched by the laboratory
  10. Rapid transport to the laboratory
