Internationale Zusammenarbeit
Overview
The International Cooperation course teaches the basics of socio-cultural, cultural-geographical and ecological relations in a global context. The first two weeks of the course (block course Networked World) are aimed both at people who work primarily in Switzerland or Europe and at people who wish to prepare themselves for international cooperation in a broader sense. Both fields are confronted with topics such as culture-religion-society, intercultural communication and migration.
The second half of the course aims to provide a holistic perspective: Diversity in terms of geography, land use and agriculture, population development and mobility, resource use (water, air, energy, mineral resources) and governance. This second part of the course on the international context is particularly relevant for people preparing to work abroad, e.g. with an international aid organisation in the Global South.
Who Should Apply for this Course?
The course is aimed at professionals from all sectors of the healthcare system (nursing, medicine, health promotion, prevention, etc.) and interested people from other professions who are preparing for a stay abroad or who are confronted with intercultural communication, migration and global health in their daily work.
