Aita Signorell is a Scientific Project Leader at the Swiss Tropical & Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) in Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Signorell graduated as a biologist from the University of Basel. She obtained her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Bern, Switzerland, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Bern and at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, USA. She has over ten years of experience in Clinical Research and was responsible for conceptualising, planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and managing complex clinical trials. These trials were predominantly conducted under challenging circumstances in resource limited settings and designed for poverty-related diseases like tuberculosis, malaria and sleeping sickness. Dr. Signorell’s primary interest lies in the field of community-centered medicines implementation research.
