Clinical decision support systems – digital tools which support healthcare providers deliver evidence-based care – can improve quality of care in resource-constrained settings. The rapid evolution of CDSS and other digital health interventions over the last decade has brought with it significant advances, whilst presenting challenges for users and other stakeholders.

This Swiss TPH CDSS symposium will bring together global experts and key drivers of CDSS development and implementation to share learning and expertise on three core themes:

  • CDSS in the health ecosystems: Two parallel tracks will explore design and implementation considerations for CDSS to be integrated in existing health ecosystems, with the one focusing on healthcare provider needs and experiences and the other focused on interoperability of digital systems
     
  • Leveraging CDSS data: teams will present ways in which data collected through routine use of CDSS is put to use, from providing insights into quality of care and emerging epidemiological trends to learning how to improve clinical decision support algorithms.
     
  • Collaboration for sustainability: we will hear about successful collaborations and future priorities to unite stakeholders to contribute to impact, scalability and sustainability of CDSS
