Profile
Tanja Barth-Jaeggi is a trained epidemiologist and nutritionist working in the Diseases and Programmes Unit of the Swiss Center for International Health at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. Her expertise includes the design, implementation, supervision and analysis of epidemiological field research (randomized controlled trials and surveys) on nutritional deficiencies and infectious diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Further she has solid experience in the epidemiology and control of leprosy. She has interacted with national and international research partners and local governments in various parts of the world such as Côte d'Ivoire, India, Kenya, Mali, Myanmar, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania. Activities at the Swiss Center for International Health focus on applied research, health system and disease programmes monitoring and performance assessment in low- and middle-income countries.
