Course Structure
There is flexibility in how you study and when you attend modules: Depending on availability, you may take some modules in the first year or in a subsequent year. It is important that you meet the requirements set out in the detailed module descriptions. Modules require attendance and self-study. Each module includes a performance assessment in the form of an examination, a presentation or a written assignment. For a detailed overview of the modules, please visit the MPH website.
A supervised Master's thesis at the end of the programme gives participants the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice. A total of 60 ECTS credits are completed in two to a maximum of five years while working. The programme concludes with the title "Master of Public Health of the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich" (MPH).

The programme is aimed at professionals with a Master's degree and professional experience who wish to adapt their skills to new challenges in the health sector. Admission "sur dossier" is possible in individual cases for people with comparable qualifications and professional experience. Doctors who wish to obtain the specialist title "FMH Prevention and Public Health" will cover the required theoretical part of their further training with this Master's degree.
Application Process and Entry Requirements
To apply for the Master of Advanced Studies in Public Health, you must have a Master’s level in a related subject and appropriate professional experience. In special circumstances, candidates with equivalent qualifications and experience may be considered.

Please note that admission to our programmes is not guaranteed and may be restricted at the discretion of our programme management. You can enrol for the Master of Advanced Studies in Public Health at the University of Zurich by email.
Course Fees
Upon acceptance, you will receive written confirmation and an invoice for the admission fee. Each module for which you register will be invoiced separately.
If you decide to cancel your module enrolment before the registration deadline, no fees will be charged. However, if you cancel after the deadline, the full module fee will be payable.
The total tuition fee of approximately CHF 39,000 covers registration, graduation, course materials and refreshments during breaks. Course fees do not cover insurance, travel expenses or personal living expenses during your stay in Switzerland, or any other costs associated with your participation.
